RIDE/ DHS Collaborative Training Session: Supporting McKinney Vento Children from Birth to Age Five

Under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, the Local Educational Agency (LEA) homeless liaisons’ legal duties extend fully to young children from birth to age five. The liaison must ensure that these young children are identified, connected to early childhood . The specific responsibilities for this age group include Identification and tracking, referrals to Early Childhood Programs, and connecting families of young children to external community resources. RIDE’s Office of School & District Improvement, along with DHS’s Office of Head Start Collaboration invite you to this session to learn more about what may be available to you in your role as you support our families who are experiencing homelessness.
