RIDE Pre-K Overview

The Center serves as the professional development and technical assistance provider for the Rhode Island Department of Education’s (RIDE) state-funded Pre-K programs. In collaboration with RIDE, we help programs plan and implement high-quality services that lead to improved outcomes for children and their families. We offer a wide range of services to RI Pre-K education coordinators and teachers, including on-site and virtual consultation, professional development sessions, and support for implementing curriculum and new classroom practices.

For the 2022-23 school year, the RI Pre-K program supports 127 classrooms across 18 communities: Central Falls, Coventry, Cranston, East Providence, Johnston, Lincoln, Middletown, Newport, North Kingstown, North Providence, Pawtucket, Providence, South Kingstown, Warren, Warwick, West Warwick, Westerly, and Woonsocket. Currently, the RI Pre-K program has seats for more than 2,300 children.
