These courses are a great way to get ready for summer.

Self-Paced PD from ProSolutions
PD and TA Update
PD Updates
- CELP Self-Paced PD can now be retaken once a year! If you are ready for a refresher of a self-paced course you took, you can retake it if it has been at least one year since you last completed the course.
- Providers should now upload their mandatory CPR/First Aid certification to RISES, where they will automatically receive up to three (3) professional development hours. These hours will count towards the required PD hours for that year. Do not submit any CPR/First Aid certifications to the CELP External PD Verification portal.
- External PD, that is not from ProSolutions and not from CELP is only uploaded through your CELP account through the External Verification Process. You can find additional guidance HERE [center-elp.org] and:
TA Updates
- You can request free technical assistance (TA) for your program from CELP. This is available to centers, preschools and family child care providers looking to improve the quality of the care and education they offer or looking to increase their BrightStars rating. Get started today!

News from SEIU: Pre-Apprenticeship Program for Family Child Care
The Pre-Apprenticeship Program prepares individuals interested in child care to obtain their DHS license and open their own program. Learn more about the program here. Orientations will be held on June 18th, June 24th, and July 14th. For questions contact stephane.sochacki@seiuesf.org.
New! News from RIAEYC: BrightStars Feedback Survey
The BrightStars Advisory Committee is soliciting feedback about BrightStars, Rhode Island’s quality rating and improvement system. The goal of the BrightStars Advisory Committee in this work is to identify ways to improve BrightStars to better meet the needs of educators, children, and families. As part of this work, we want to hear from child care providers and early learning educators.
This survey is voluntary. Your individual responses will be kept confidential, and no identifying information about you will be shared with RIAEYC, DHS, RIDE or the BrightStars Advisory Committee. If you wish to be entered into a raffle for one of five baskets of program materials, please add your program name and address at the end of the survey.

- ¡Nuevo! Un enfoque centrado en el niño para el aprendizaje del uso del baño Este curso revisa el concepto requerido de enseñar a los niños a usar el baño de una manera apropiada para el desarrollo tanto en programas basados en centros como en hogares familiares de cuidado infantil. Esta capacitación proporcionará una visión general de las regulaciones de licencias para el cuidado infantil y el cuidado infantil familiar de Rhode Island para las políticas y procedimientos para ir al baño. Abarcará estrategias para apoyar a niños y familias en este proceso y recursos para implementar prácticas con todos los niños.Objetivos de aprendizaje:Después de completar este curso, los participantes podrán:
- Describir varios cambios históricos en las prácticas y enfoques para el baño
- Identificar las regulaciones de licencias para ir al baño en centros de cuidado infantil y hogares de cuidado infantil familiar
- Resumir la preparación para el desarrollo y las habilidades básicas que los niños necesitan para aprender a ir al baño
- Describir las prácticas y estrategias recomendadas que construyen una rutina de aprendizaje positiva para ir al baño

Este curso tiene varios componentes, entre ellos leer artículos, la realización de múltiples cuestionarios de evaluación de conocimientos y el envío de respuestas a una evaluación del curso. Asegúrese de responder a todas las preguntas de la evaluación del curso de forma completa, ya que se otorgan horas de desarrollo profesional (DP) y créditos de educación continua (CEU) en función de ello. Los participantes del curso obtendrán2 horas de DP y 0.2 CEU aprobadas por Rhode Island al completar satisfactoriamente el curso. Se otorgan créditos de educación continua y un certificado de horas de DP al completar el curso en su totalidad, obtener una calificación aprobatoria del 80% en el cuestionario de evaluación de conocimientos y completar la evaluación del curso.
Tenga en cuenta: Se requiere una computadora o dispositivo electrónico con conexión a Internet para completar exitosamente este curso.

Anuncios sobre desarrollo profesional (DP)
- ¡Ahora puedes retomar los cursos de CELP autoguiados cada año! Si quieres repasar un curso autoguiado que ya hiciste, puedes volver a tomarlo siempre que haya pasado al menos un año desde la última vez que lo completaste.
- Los proveedores ahora deben cargar su certificación obligatoria de RCP/Primeros Auxilios en RISES, donde recibirán automáticamente hasta tres (3) horas de desarrollo profesional. Estas horas contarán para cumplir con las horas de desarrollo profesional requeridas para el año en curso. No envíe ninguna certificación de RCP/Primeros Auxilios al portal de Verificación Externa de Desarrollo Profesional de CELP.
- El desarrollo profesional externo —es decir, aquel que no proviene de ProSolutions ni de CELP— solo debe cargarse a través de su cuenta de CELP mediante el Proceso de Verificación Externa. Puede encontrar orientación adicional AQUÍ y en los siguientes enlaces:

Noticias de Progreso Latino: Programa de DP con clases de inglés gratis
Progreso Latino, con apoyo de CELP y DHS, esta ofreciendo clases de inglés gratis para maestros, proveedores y asistentes. Estos cursos otorgan horas de desarrollo profesional. Noticias del SEIU: Programa de Pre-Aprendizaje de Cuidado Infantil Familiar
El Programa de Pre-Aprendizaje es una via que prepara a personas interesadas en el cuidado infantil para obtener su licencia del DHS y abrir su propio programa. Haz clic aquí para aprender mas. ¡Nuevo! Noticias de RIAEYC: Encuesta de comentarios de BrightStars
Gracias por su interés en brindar comentarios sobre BrightStars, el sistema de calificación y mejora de la calidad de Rhode Island. El objetivo del Comité Asesor de BrightStars en este trabajo es identificar maneras de mejorar BrightStars para satisfacer mejor las necesidades de los educadores, los niños y las familias. Como parte de este proceso, queremos escuchar las opiniones de los proveedores de cuidado infantil y de los educadores de la primera infancia.
Esta encuesta es voluntaria.
