September brings a new school year for many, and fresh PD opportunities at the Center for Early Learning Professionals. Check out our list of new offerings, online and in-person trainings, and get those PD hours completed. Click on the link below to see our complete list. Classes begin September 28th.
NEW Training for Early Childhood Leaders
Advocacy 101 for Early Childhood Leaders
This one session overview will provide ECE professionals with the necessary information and tools to begin to advocate for a variety of issues in the early childhood field. Participants will have the opportunity to put these tools into practice during the session.
Ensure that ALL Children have a Successful Year
Practical Approaches to Behavior for ALL Children
Each session in this 4-part series will focus on a specific instructional practice that aims to support children’s social-emotional development and engagement in the classroom community. Each session can be taken individually or all together. Session topics are: Using Social Narratives, The Safe Space, The Power of Language, and Meaningful Activities.
Effective Classroom Practices for the First Six Weeks of School (in-person)
This series will support preschool teachers as they plan for the first six weeks of the school year. Participants will learn a variety of strategies for supporting students’ social-emotional development as they acclimate to their new learning environment. Sessions will focus on organizing the physical space and materials, building a classroom community, and establishing strong routines and expectations at the beginning of the year.
NEW Training from the Autism Project
An Introduction to Autism and Self-Regulation
This new 3-part series by the Autism Project will provide an overview of typical and atypical development, with a focus on the characteristics of autism, and supporting self-regulation in all children. This course will provide participants with an understanding of these characteristics and enable them to better support children with ASD in their classrooms. In addition, strategies to support a person before, during, and after a period of dysregulation will be discussed. Dates coming soon!
PD for School-Age Programs
Quality Environments and Supervision in School-Age Programs
This 2-part series is an introduction to quality environments and supervision in after school programs. It will explore the components of an afterschool program including health and safety, relationship building, programming /activities and how to create youth choice. The sessions will also present information on supervising children both indoors and outdoors.
Ya llego el calendario de desarrollo profesional del otoño
Septiembre trae un nuevo año escolar para muchos y nuevas oportunidades de desarrollo profesional en el Center for Early Learning Professionals. Consulte nuestra lista de nuevas ofertas, capacitaciones en línea y en persona, y complete esas horas de desarrollo profesional. Haga clic en el enlace abajo para ver nuestra lista completa de DP. Preparación para el kinder y una transición exitosa
Esta oportunidad de desarrollo profesional de dos sesiones ayudará a los proveedores de cuidado infantil familiar a comprender su papel en el apoyo a los niños y las familias durante la transición al kinder. Este curso brindará a los participantes una comprensión de estas características y les permitirá apoyar mejor a los niños con autismo en sus aulas. The Center for Early Learning Professionals (CELP) is hosting an in-person meet & greet. We are so excited for you to meet our new staff and get reacquainted with familiar faces! This meet and greet will include fun “stations” as well as opportunities for raffles, make & takes, refreshments, and more!

New YouTube Channel from Young Mathematicians
The Young Mathematicians (YM) project has launched its own YouTube channel featuring math game videos for teachers and families of children ages 3–6. Please subscribe to their channel, which will have over 150 videos in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. EDC’s YouTube channel also features a YM playlist.
Nuevo canal de YouTube de Jovenes Matemáticos (Young Mathematicians)
El proyecto Jóvenes Matemáticos (YM) ha lanzado su propio canal de YouTube que presenta vídeos de juegos de matemáticos para educadores y familias de niños de 3 a 6 años. Suscríbete a su canal, que tendrá más de 150 videos en español, inglés y portugués. El canal de YouTube de EDC también incluye una lista de reproducción de YM.
