This session will support education coordinators and program administrators as they plan for the first
six weeks of the RI Pre-K school year. Sessions will focus on deepening participants’ understanding of
the unique social and emotional needs of children at the beginning of the school year, as well as the
teacher’s critical role in supporting children’s success, through the lens of supportive supervision.
Participants who complete this session will review children’s social-emotional needs, key teaching
objectives, and the role of the adult during the first six weeks of school and discuss strategies for
supporting teachers during the first six weeks of school. Participants can earn up to 2 PD hours by
participating in one facilitated online
session.
