I hope everyone is having a great start to the school year. I wanted to take the opportunity to provide you with some important updates regarding both RISES and our next All Provider Meetings occurring in October (see dates below). I also wanted to make you aware that DHS Office of Child Care e-mails will be sent more frequently moving forward. While in the last few weeks they have slowed down, we have lots of exciting changes and updates that we will be sharing with you. I urge you to check your inbox often to ensure you do not miss any important information.
Thank you all so much for your hard work and dedication getting into the RISES system, asking questions and providing feedback. We truly do recognize the additional work this has created for you as providers as we launch the system. We cannot express enough how grateful we are for your help. Release 3 of the RISES system went live today Tuesday, September 16th. This release includes numerous additions to the system, that will streamline the process for both for the provider community as well as for us here at DHS.
First, Release 3 creates a case management system that allows DHS to correspond with all of our technical assistance vendors to ensure that you, as providers engaging with those vendors, are getting what you need. This release also allows us to have the information all in one digital location. This newest functionality in RISES is internal (not visible to the public) and allows those of us at DHS to correspond directly with our partners, (LISC, RIAEYC, and the CELP, as examples) in one system to ensure that technical assistance to your programs is happening quickly and efficiently.
Release 3 also has the RI Pre-K application. For those of you who are currently RI Pre-K programs, you’ll receive more information from RIDE in the coming weeks about how this impacts you. For those who are not RI pre-K providers, this is the place moving forward where, as seats open, you’ll be able to apply to become a RI Pre-K grantee.
Last, but most certainly not least, we launched an all-new consumer website. We appreciate your patience as we navigated the earlylearningprograms.dhs.ri.gov platform. We recognize that we needed an easier, more efficient system for you all. This utilizes the information that you have already entered in RISES to market yourself to those looking to find care. You can find this website at Consumer Search | Rhode Island Start Early System (RISES). You can bookmark the website for now – but we will be moving it to our earlylearning platform in the coming week.
THANK YOU to the over 300 of you who provided incentivization forms in order to be eligible for the stipend. We are hoping to get them all wrapped up in the next week so please rest assured if you haven’t heard from us, you will shortly!
While we are no longer accepting applications for the incentivization stipend, please note that you will have until the end of the month to complete your Initial Data Documentation Application. The purpose of this application is to make sure all of your information is in the system and correct on the consumer website prior to your renewal date. Please take the time to at least complete the application, even if you prefer to not submit documents at this time. Because this is the information that feeds the consumer website, the faster you complete it, the more accurate your information will be. As of 9/30, we will be taking down the Initial Data Documentation application.
I also wanted to extend my apologies regarding the All-Provider Meeting – while I had the date on the PowerPoint presentation, I did not have it on my calendar. We will be pushing it out a few weeks and the dates and sign ups are below!
