Valued partners,
The Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS) will be temporarily closing the Woonsocket Office at 219 Pond Street in order to complete important customer-focused renovations.
The closure is expected to be for about one week starting September 10 and ending September 15 from the customer’s perspective. This means walk-in customers going to the Woonsocket Office will be redirected to other offices should they need in-person services, until the Woonsocket Office is reopened on September 16. While other DHS offices remain open, it is important for customers to be aware of resources that remain available 24/7 including the Customer Portal (healthyrhode.ri.gov), the mobile app, and the self-service Call Center line (1-855-697-4347).
The renovations will bring important updates to the DHS Woonsocket Office that are necessary and greatly beneficial to customers and our staff. Through these renovations, the updated office space will provide more seating, offer more interview spaces, and maximize the space that is available, which are all important for helping redistribute case populations only as needed. Importantly the changes to the space will improve case processing, help shorten wait times, and improve overall operational efficiency.
During this time, we respectfully request that customers you interact with are informed of the temporary closure of the Woonsocket Office and connected to our other resources, services, and supports.
We appreciate your continued partnership to help connect Rhode Islanders to critical services. Together, with your partnership, we hope to continually improve the customer experience at DHS.
Sincerely,
Jose Garcia
