Classes begin the week of July 14th and run through August.

Using the Power of Pause to Relate and Regulate – In-Person
In this two-session series, preschool teachers and teacher assistants will learn strategies to help children develop the skills needed to pause and self-regulate. Participants will explore the underlying concepts of self-regulation and be introduced to five concrete steps that can be used to regulate themselves first, before supporting children through the self-regulation process. This series will meet in person at the Center for Early Learning Professionals.

It All Begins with Play
All children need to play, and even more than ever! Come learn about the impact that play has on children’s physical and emotional development in this 4-part series. Content will explore the benefits of play for all children including those with neurodevelopmental disabilities, on the Autism Spectrum, and impacted by trauma and chronic stress.

Out of School Time Basics- Starting the School Year Right!
This 2-part training will explore the basics of setting up and running a quality School-Age program.  Whether you are new to School-Age programming or a seasoned staff in need of new ideas this series will help improve essential policies and procedures, program structures and schedules, and curriculum that will keep children engaged and learning.

Two is Not the New Five: Understanding Infant and Toddler Development
This series provides an overview of the physical, social and emotional, cognitive, and language development of children from birth to age 3. The sessions emphasize the critical role that attachment and responsive relationships play in healthy development across these interrelated domains. This series is appropriate for new or experienced teaching staff with little or no formal training in this topic.

Young Mathematicians: Using Math Games to Build Minds and Motivation (In-Person and Online)
Math is for everyone! Math games are a fun and engaging way to build critical early math skills. This hands-on series will build your capacity to facilitate and build children’s mathematical knowledge and thinking using games and assessment strategies to track children’s growth. Bonus feature: All participants will receive free materials to play the math games in their program. This series will be presented using a hybrid format, meeting in person and online.

Session for Administrators

Widening the Lens: Looking at Quality from a Program Administration Perspective
Taking a “wide-angle lens” approach means looking beyond the classroom to consider the overall organizational climate, leadership, and management practices that support quality early childhood education. This includes sound fiscal management, effective program planning, and strong family partnerships. This session introduces The Program Administration Scale (PAS), a valid and reliable tool used to assess these critical areas of program management.
