DHS is excited to share the CCAP for Child Care pilot program is coming soon!
The CCAP (Child Care Assistance Program) for Child Care pilot is a one-year pilot offering CCAP benefits to early childhood educators and staff working in DHS licensed child care programs. The intent of the pilot is to support early educators in accessing child care for their children so they can continue working, without worrying about the cost of child care.
When will the application go live?
Beginning in a couple of weeks, the online application, FAQ, pilot overview document, and application guide will be posted online.
An email announcement will be shared on go-live day with all CCAP participating providers and any staff who completed the CCAP for Child Care Interest Survey. If you would like to be added to this email list, please email nicole.chiello@dhs.ri.gov.
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible for CCAP for Child Care pilot benefits if:
- You are currently working in a DHS licensed child care program at least 20 hours a week
- Your household income is at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Limit
- You and your child are residents of Rhode Island
- Your child is a US citizen or qualified immigrant
- Your child is between ages 6 weeks and 13 years old and resides in your household
We encourage all applicants to review the eligibility criteria once it is posted online. Applicants already receiving CCAP benefits are encouraged to apply for this pilot, as your copay can be waived with no other impact to your existing benefits.
