Webinar: Strategies and Support to Help Your Community Improve the Transition to Kindergarten

All Rhode Island educators are invited to join us for this virtual learning event!

Find out how you and your partners can improve school readiness and outcomes for children in your community. Over the past two years, RIDE and EDC’s Center for Early Learning Professionals have supported 6 communities in developing and implementing Transition to Kindergarten plans. Join one of four webinars to learn about an upcoming opportunity to participate in the next phase of this work. Participating communities will engage in a series of summits and will receive onsite coaching throughout 2021.

The webinars will share a framework for organizing transition activities and many examples. All are welcome, but we encourage participants to come in teams that include administrators and teachers from elementary schools, Head Start programs, and community-based preschools.

Participants will:

  • Learn why the transition to kindergarten is so important to children’s school readiness
  • Explore the transition strategies that support child success
  • Examine a toolkit of transition resources
  • Find out about a new professional learning opportunity that can help improve transition to kindergarten
