Upcoming Winter PD!
Ripples of Positivity: Prioritizing Self-Care (Online Session)
This session focuses on the direct connection between adult well-being and professional effectiveness. Participants will leave with research-backed strategies that they can use to support their own well-being.
Dates: Wednesday, March 25th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
PD for School Age Providers
The Role of the Site Coordinator in School Age Programs (Online)
The role of the site coordinator for a school-age program is complex and challenging. This overview session will help you learn more about the many duties of each of these roles and ultimately how to best support staff to fill their “toolbox” so that they can perform at the highest level.
Dates: Tuesday, March 17th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
New Self-Paced PD Offering
Micro-Training: Tips for Handwashing Practices
This course reviews the required practices and procedures for handwashing in both center-based programs and family child care homes. This training will provide an overview of the Rhode Island Child Care and Family Child Care licensing regulations for handwashing policies and procedures and resources for implementing proper health and hygiene practices with all children.

We are excited to announce that the Center for Early Learning Professionals has moved to a beautiful new headquarters. On January 1, 2026, we will be up and running at our new home, which is conveniently located at 2348 Post Road, Suite 111 in Warwick.

New! News from RIDE: Register for Spring RIELDS
Spring RIELDS courses are now open for registration. You can register here. To see the full calendar click here.
The Programs for Education Coordinators course will be offered in Pawtucket on the following dates from 4:30-6:30 pm.
March 19th, April 2nd, April 16th, April 30th, May 14th, May 28th, June 11th, and June 25th

The prerequisite for this course is The Instructional Cycle course and Curriculum and Planning course.
New! Save the Date for WEPA
Mark your calendars: ESF-RI’s annual conference, the We Empower Providers Assembly (WEPA), will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. It will take place at the Providence Marriott Downtown, 1 Orms Street, from 10:30am – 2:30pm (registration at 9:30am).
Their theme this year is Connection Through Storytelling. We’re creating an event that honors and amplifies the voices of our family child care educators – celebrating their journeys, experiences, and impact – while strengthening our community and deepening the relationships that bring us together.
Please stay tuned for more details and registration information in the upcoming weeks.
Last Chance for the Family Outreach Survey from DHS and EDC!
The Rhode Island Parent/Caregiver Survey distributed by EDC/DHS has received a great response but seeks more parent engagement. They are asking for your help sharing the following text messaging language with the parents in your program, if you feel comfortable texting with them. Feel free to edit the message as you see fit. Reminder that the deadline for the survey is this Friday, March 13th:

Cursos autoguiados
Creando espacios de juego al aire libre asequibles y de alta calidad
Esta capacitación proporcionará una descripción general de los beneficios del juego al aire libre para el desarrollo de los niños, ideas y estrategias para mejorar los espacios actuales de juego al aire libre e intervenciones en espacios de juego asequibles.
Apoyando el aprendizaje mediante el juego en el hogar
En este curso, los participantes explorarán estrategias para fortalecer la conexión casa-escuela mediante la promoción del aprendizaje divertido. Los participantes considerarán formas de fomentar el aprendizaje de los niños a través del juego con sus familias.
Rhode Island Abuso y Negligencia Infantil: Parte 2
presenta una inmersión más profunda en los signos de diferentes tipos de maltrato y abandono infantil, datos nacionales y estatales relacionados con el abuso y el descuido, y el papel del profesional de la primera infancia. Esta capacitación está diseñada para seguir el curso general titulado, RI Abuso y negligencia infantil: Mantener seguros a los niños de Rhode Island en todo momento.

Anoten en sus calendarios: la conferencia anual de ESF-RI, la Asamblea de Empoderamos a los Proveedores (WEPA), se llevará a cabo el sábado 6 de junio de 2026 en el Providence Marriott Downtown, 1 Orms Street, de 10:30 am a 2:30 pm (inscripción a las 9:30 am).
El tema de este año es “Conexión a través de la narración”. Estan creando un evento que honra y amplifica las voces de nuestros educadores de cuidado infantil familiar, celebrando sus trayectorias, experiencias e impacto, a la vez que fortalece nuestra comunidad y profundiza las relaciones que nos unen.

La encuesta para padres/cuidadores de Rhode Island, distribuida por EDC/DHS, ha recibido una buena cantidad de respuestas, pero buscan aún mayor participación de los padres. Oportunidad de RIAIMH
Serie de conversación comunitaria 2026
RIAIMH ahora ofrece la Serie de Conversaciones Comunitarias en español. Esta serie transformadora de 6 sesiones, “Raíces Fuertes, Futuros Brillantes: Conversaciones comunitarias sobre la salud mental infantil” (Strong Roots, Bright Futures: Community Conversations on Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health), está diseñada específicamente para educadores hispanohablantes, proveedores de cuidado infantil, profesionales de la primera infancia y aquellos que trabajan como parte de la fuerza laboral de infantes y familias.
Descripción de la Serie: Serie de conversaciones virtuales que exploran principios y prácticas esenciales que nutren el bienestar emocional de los niños desde el nacimiento hasta los 5 años. Los temas incluyen:
- Sesión #3 (15 de abril): Sanando Juntos: El trauma, la pérdida y la pervivencia – Facilitada por Ivys Fernández-Pastrana, JD y Carmen Rosa Noroña, LICSW, MSW, MS. Ed., IECMH-E®
- Las sesiones 4, 5 y 6 aún están en etapa de planificación y por favor manténganse atentos para más información.
