This series provides new teachers, teacher assistants and family child care educators with a look at the importance of positive relationships and interactions to children’s development and learning. Strategies for planning high-quality interactions to extend children’s learning during play, read-aloud sessions, daily routines and transitions will be the focus. The series is best suited for new teachers and teacher assistants who are looking to expand their current role in the classroom, and become more engaged and effective in their interactions with children.
Participants who complete the series will:
- recognize key components for improving children’s daily experiences
- identify strategies to support children’s development and learning in all domains
- learn the importance of building positive relationships with children and intentionally planning high-quality interactions throughout the day
Participants can earn up to 10 PD hours by attending three facilitated online sessions and completing three online assignments.
