Strengthening Curriculum Practices for Children Ages Zero to Five - In-person Series

This three-session professional development series is designed for child care providers working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. It will provide practical strategies, tools, and resources to help educators design, implement, and reflect on developmentally appropriate curricula aligned with best practices and standards such as the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS). Session 1: Foundations of Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers; Session 2: Planning and Implementing Effective Learning Experiences; Session 3: Using Assessment to Guide Curriculum Development.
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the foundational principles for developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and implement effective learning experiences for children aged zero to five years
- Explain the relationship between curriculum and assessment and its role in supporting children’s learning and development
Participants can earn up to 9 PD hours by attending three in-person sessions and completing three assignments.
