This series is a basic introduction to the physical developmental milestones of gross motor and fine motor skills in infants and toddlers. Participants will learn about the foundational sensory and attachment experiences that infants need to support their physical developmental process. Additional topics will include exploring activities that support robust physical and emotional development and strategies to empower parents to understand their child’s development. This series is best for infant and toddler teachers and anyone interested in childhood development. Cristen Sassi, M.Ed., OTR/L, will present both sessions.

Participants will be able to:

  • identify the physical milestones in gross motor and fine motor development in children from birth to age three.
  • describe foundational sensory and emotional experiences that support physical development in young children.
  • implement activities that support infant and toddler physical development.
  • identify tools and strategies to empower families in supporting their children’s development.

Participants can earn up to 6 PD hours by attending two facilitated online sessions and completing two online assignments.
