Join the Autism Project for an important 2-part series for all educators, administrators, and family child care providers. This series will begin with an overview of up-to-date information on the neurodevelopmental characteristics of autism. Participants will then learn how sensory integration challenges impact behaviors and the ability to meet the demands of the environment, which can lead to issues of elopement or wandering. This series will provide essential resources for programs working with all types of learners.
Participants who complete this series will:
- understand the core deficits of autism and how the disorder impacts a child across the day
- understand the impact of atypical modulation on the experience of sensory input and strategies to assist with regulation
- identify strategies and resources for preventing elopement and keeping children safe in your program
Participants can earn up to 5 PD hours by attending two facilitated online sessions and completing one intersession assignment.
