This course, the third in the Foundation for Success year-long series, will provide educators with an understanding of children’s development of self-awareness, competence, and confidence. Educators will learn strategies to support preschool children in developing their identity and skills related to independence within their classroom communities.

Upon completion of the series, participants will:

  • recognize the development of individual identity as a part of children’s social and emotional development
  • identify strategies to support children’s development of responsibility, confidence, and independence
  • understand ways to support all children in participating in their community through collaboration, decision making, and problem solving

Participants can earn up to 7 PD hours by completing two in-person sessions and two intersession assignments
