Autism Thinking: Perspective of the Child

up to 12 PD hours English Infant-Toddler Educators, Preschool and Pre-K Educators, Program Directors, Education Coordinators, and Education Supervisors

Autism Spectrum Disorder impacts 1 in every 59 children. Most early learning professionals have had a child diagnosed with autism or a child with autism-like characteristics in their classroom. This series will focus on autism thinking, developmental disabilities, and sensory processing disorder.

Participants who complete this series will:

  • understand the core deficits of autism and how the disorder impacts a child across the day
  • enable caregivers to look at behavior differently and gain insights to teach to the individual’s needs and skill deficits
  • learn how to integrate strategies into day to day practice

Participants can earn up to 12 PD hours by attending the three face-to-face sessions and completing three online assignments.
