RIDE-Funded LETRS® Professional Development for Early Childhood Educators Available

The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) is pleased to announce the release of a new round of RIDE-funded, LETRS professional development through our State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG)! RIDE’s SPDG program is focused on supporting educators statewide to improve fidelity of implementation of Structured Literacy within a Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. Rhode Island educators are encouraged to apply for participation in this LETRS® for Early Childhood (EC) Educators training, beginning in the 2023-24 academic year.

This training is offered to local education agency (LEA) and Community-Based Organization (CBO) Preschool and Pre-K educators; EC special educators and EC specialists working with children ages 3-5. Completion of this training leads to “Proficiency” for Preschool and Pre-K under the Right to Read Act.

This training is also offered to faculty and pre-service teachers (a.k.a., teacher candidates) at institutions of higher education (IHEs).
