This remote contextualized English language learning class for emergent and multilingual adults will assist in improving accuracy and fluency in producing and understanding spoken and written English. The class seeks to develop the students’ abilities in grammar, oral skills, reading, writing and study skills which will enable them to be successful in their jobs as family childcare providers. Contextualized classes do not provide professional development hours however, the course embeds professional development opportunities within the semester so students can earn up to 15 hours of professional development (hours vary each session). Content specialists are brought in at various times during the semester to facilitate various professional development topics related to early childhood.
