The Strengthening Business Practices for Child Care Programs series addresses basic concepts in fiscal and operational management of center-based child care programs. These trainings are grounded in the belief that strong and sustainable child care businesses can support program initiatives designed to improve outcomes for children. This series is comprised of four training modules: Module 1 Budgets, Projections, and Planning; Module 2 Financial Reports and Internal Controls; Module 3 Marketing Your Program; Module 4 Recruitment and Retention: Staff.

The purpose of this training is to strengthen child care providers’ foundational knowledge of business practices. The training encourages providers to realize the importance of fiscal planning to the sustainability of their business operations. The training provides tips and best practices to help break down fiscal processes into manageable steps.

This training was developed by the Office of Child Care, Child Care Quality and Business Support Center through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Program.

Participants can earn up to 12 PD hours by attending four facilitated online session.
