- Description
This three-part professional development series explores how purposeful play supports whole-child development for children aged zero to five. Participants will investigate how play fosters language, problem-solving, creativity, social-emotional growth, and self-regulation. Each session blends research, theory, and practical examples to help educators intentionally design environments and interactions that strengthen learning through play. Through hands-on activities and reflective discussions, participants will build concrete strategies they can apply in their classrooms.
Participants will be able to:
- Explain how purposeful play promotes whole-child development for children aged zero to five.
- Identify and apply intentional teaching strategies that enhance learning during play.
- Assess and adjust learning environments and interactions to support children’s exploration, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth.
- Design developmentally appropriate play-based experiences aligned with early learning standards and responsive caregiving practices.
