New! News from DHS
RISES Release 2 Update March 20
Dear Valued Center-Based providers,
Thank you to all of you who have begun accessing the new licensing system of record housed in RISES. As valued partners in this work, you are helping us identify ways to fix and improve the system, even within the first few weeks of launch. We appreciate each and every one of you and the feedback you have provided.
We are aware that any center based programs who offer preschool/pre-k have had that total capacity doubled in the system. We have included an example below. We are actively working with our vendor to address this. As you know from previous licenses, we did not capture preschool (3-5 year olds) and pre-k (4-5 year olds) separately in our old system. DHS believes this breakdown is helpful from a data standpoint so we do want to capture it. Once the duplication has been corrected, we will let you know.
Once this is resolved, please submit a ticket in RISES that provides us with the breakdown of your capacity of preschool children and your capacity of pre-k children if you separate these age groups in different classroom. We will be able to make these updates for you in the system.
It cannot be said enough how much we appreciate your patience and support as we move forward with this system. Already, our team is seeing improvements in the time it takes to review renewals as well as looking at your staff in the system. We can’t wait to see how this system continues to grow and work for us all over the next few months.
As always, reach out with any questions you might have!
Sincerely,
Nicole Chiello
Assistant Director – Office of Child Care

Atentamente,
Nicole Chiello
