Summer Professional Development Has Arrived

The summer PD calendar is packed with learning opportunities for all. Check out the new offerings listed below. Click on the link to see our complete list. Classes begin the week of July 10th and run through August.

New PD Offerings

Engaging Infants and Toddlers in STEAM – In Person
Are you interested in learning more about supporting STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) with our youngest learners? This series provides an overview of the components of STEAM, along with ways to incorporate STEAM into the curriculum and everyday activities with the infants and toddlers in your care.

Exploring Identity, Implicit Bias, and Anti-Bias Education through Reflective Practice
Explore bias in more depth in this new extended series. Sessions will equip educators with the tools to reflect on their identity, explore implicit bias and how to implement the goals of anti-bias education.

Effective Classroom Practices for the First Six Weeks of School – In Person
This series will support preschool teachers as they plan for the first six weeks of the school year. Participants will learn a variety of strategies for supporting students’ social-emotional development as they acclimate to their new learning environment.

Administrator Series

Creating Family and Employee Handbook Sessions
Each of these sessions will guide administrators of center-based programs through the required components of family and employee handbooks. Participants will have the opportunity to work on the creation and revision of their program handbooks.

Strengthening Business Practices: Recruiting, Hiring and Retaining Staff
This series will support administrators in the innovation of the management components needed to address current staffing challenges in the early care and education community.  Sessions will focus on the processes of recruitment, interviewing, orientation, and staff retention.
