Supporting Social and Emotional Development: The Preschool Years – In-Person Series

This series provides a comprehensive overview of social and emotional development in preschool-aged children. Session topics focus on understanding the definition of social and emotional development and its impact on learning; the importance of building relationships and creating nurturing environments; fostering self-esteem and positive social behavior; and promoting problem-solving skills.

Participants who complete the series will:

  • identify social and emotional development skills and how they impact early learning and child outcomes
  • integrate knowledge of the role of supportive environments in promoting children’s development and learning
  • learn to utilize techniques and strategies to support social and emotional development, and overall learning, in daily activities and curriculum

Participants can earn up to 10.5 PD hours by attending three in-persons sessions and completing three online assignments.
