Health and Safety Modules: Nutrition and Physical Activity

The Center has created two additional online modules focused on the topics of nutrition and physical activity for children ages birth to 5. The modules provide basic information about nutrition and physical activity practices and are ideal for orienting new staff or examining ways to boost current practices in both center-based and family child care settings.

Each module consists of video instruction interspersed with activities designed to expand and enhance the content. Be sure to print the activity handouts before watching the video. After completing each module, submit the online survey to receive a certificate. You will receive 1 PD hour for completing each module and its accompanying activities.

If you have difficulty downloading and opening any of the handouts below, be sure to install the free Adobe Reader.

If you have questions about the modules or anything on this webpage, please contact us 401-736-9020.

To obtain a certificate of completion for each of these modules, you must:

  1. Have an active online account with the Center for Early Learning Professionals. If you do not have an account, please sign up here.
  2. Complete and submit the online survey. Once we receive your completed survey, your certificate will be available for download (within seven to 10 days) from the “My Course History” section of your account in the Center’s data system.
