Family Engagement: Culturally Responsive Approach – Online Series

up to 14 hours English Family Child Care Administrators and Educators, Infant-Toddler Educators, Preschool and Pre-K Educators, Program Directors, Education Coordinators, and Education Supervisors

Developing respectful, reciprocal, and responsive relationships with families is essential for engaging them in their children’s education. Research proves that strong partnerships between families and educators are key factors contributing to successful child outcomes. In this series, we will explore strategies for building strong relationships with families and engaging them in their children’s development and learning. We will also discuss implicit bias, what it is, and how it impacts our interactions with families.

Participants who complete the series will:

  • gain an understanding of the role culture and bias play in creating respectful relationships with families
  • learn effective communication strategies for partnering with families
  • strengthen family engagement opportunities within their program

Participants can earn up to 14 PD hours by attending the four facilitated online sessions and completing four online assignments.

Please Note: This series has been approved by RIDE to serve as a RIELDS Next Steps class.
