Professional Development Approval. Learn about two options for obtaining PD approval – one for trainers and a second for participants – and access the application forms and scoring rubrics.
Workforce Knowledge and Competencies Online Modules. Learn about Rhode Island’s Workforce Knowledge and Competency Frameworks for center-based and family child care educators. Understand how to use the WKCs to create your Individual Professional Development Plan and advance your career.
Health and Safety Resources. View these online learning modules to meet state requirements for completing an approved health and safety training. Choose from three sets of overview modules designed for center-based educators, family child care providers, or license exempt child care providers. Or select modules focused on healthy nutrition and physical activity for children ages birth to 5.
RIDE Child Assessment Modules. Advance your knowledge and skills in child assessment by completing nine learning modules developed by the Rhode Island Department of Education. Increase your understanding of Rhode Island’s vision for quality child assessment practices, and engage in a self-assessment exercise to earn an additional PD hour.
Curriculum Modifications Modules. Learn how to modify your classroom environment to meet the varying needs of children. Earn 5 PD hours by viewing all five online modules, completing accompanying activities, and submitting an online survey.
Serving Children and Families Experiencing Homelessness. Access resources designed to broaden your understanding of family homelessness and how you can support homeless children in child care settings.
